The commonly held view about Hong Kong is that it is a large city, which is famous only for towering skyscrapers and shopping.
Most visitors to Hong Kong are surprised to learn that the territory is predominantly country parks with huge mountains rising sharply out of the sea. Needless to say, because of this Hong Kong is a premier adventure race location with a thriving adventure racing scene.
There's no doubt that the engine behind the Hong Kong racing scene is the Oxfam TrailWalker. One of the toughest 100k courses in the world. Every year thousands of people compete in this charity event to varying degrees of intensity. The current record for this 100k is held by the Gurkha's, at just under twelve hours, the time is indicative of just how tough the course is.
The racing scene has been enhanced by two long-running race series
With so many great mountains and undis-covered tracks weaving acorss Hong Kong, there's plenty scope for different kinds of racing formats.
We believe The LMX and The KMX bring a new dimension to the racing scene in HK.
